American Civil War Tin Type photograph of a Union Soldier complete in its original case.Circa.1864/65
A very attractive American Civil War photograph of a Union soldier posing for the camera wearing kepi. The ‘Tin Type’ photo has been colour tinted and although it has some very slight damage to it, it is in remarkably good condition for its age and type. The photo is encased in a gilded ornate frame showing cannons, and flags etc. which is inset into a wood covered hinged case,typical of this period. Condition is very good and probably one of the better condition items from this period that we have seen. Size approx. 3″x 2″(Small normal size for these photos.)
