German. Original large photo of GrosAdmiral Karl Donitz taken from his Headquarters at the end of the War.Circa.1945
A large black and white photograph of GrosAdmiral Karl Donitz, the photograph is housed in its original Third Reich period silvered wood glazed frame and the photo is by a Berlin photographer who I am struggling to de-cypher the correct name. The photograph is approx. 24″ x 18″ in size so its quite large and was part of the Forman Archive. Mr Forman Senior (Now sadly deceased) asked Karl Donitz himself about the photograph and he confirmed that this photo actually hung in his office at his headquarters in Flensburg 1945 .Unfortunately I cannot confirm this other than the quality ,authenticity of all items that formed the Forman Archive were all without question original pieces and I have no reason whatsoever to question this statement. Condition is very good and its a great item for the avid U-Boat collector.
