French Airforce Officers cap & Surveillant Brassard. Circa.1935.

Scarce 1930’s French Airforce officer’s peaked cap, reasonable condition, lost some of its shape and a little grubby. The small black fibre peak typical of this period item is in good order,padded inner lining, with card type sweatband. One gold braid band to top of border on outside of cap with gold braid chinstrap attached to two French Airforce gilded buttons, large gold bullion insignia to the top front. Slight moth below gold braid badge. The cap is being sold with similar period up until 1940 “Surveillant” brassard, a scarce black felt type brassard with silver bullion airforce wings,very Art-Deco in style with the word SURVEILLANT embroidered also in silver bullion above. The end of the brassard has a black painted steel buckle with the manufacturers city of Paris stamped on it. The brassard is also in good condition but does need a clean and there are some small particles of a red like residue just to the top part of the brassard. The Surveillant or Reconnaissance brassard is scarce.
