British New Land Service Flintlock Military pistol. Circa.1800’s
British military pistol Circa.1800 the pistol has a 9″ barrel(approx.) with a swivel ramrod , the wood work is in good order and is marked to the top just behind the back strap,N.S.Y.(North Surrey or Somerset Yeomanry?) showing that it was later re-issued to the Yeomanry from its British Army general service. The Flintlock is in good working order as is the frizzen and the lockplate is stamped “Tower” and has the Crown and G.R. cypher below. The lock is also stamped with the Military arsenal marks as is the top of the barrel and the end of the barrel backstrap. Brass butt and trigger guard, the latter having an engraved rose upon it(Probably from its days in the Yeomanry), the wood stock is a good aged colour and in very good condition. For me, one of the best looking flintlock pistols that the British Army produced and this is an excellent example.
