British. Original Great War Watercolour of the RFA. 6″ Howitzer 1918.
A superb small Watercolour, contained in a glazed very ornate plaster on wood gilded frame. The water-colour is signed at the lower left corner of the painting but I am at a loss as to read it(Best I get is C.W.Pannister? but I am pretty sure this is not correct). The painting shows a 6″ Howitzer positioned along side a War damaged farm building and RFA crew and soldiers stood around it. The painting is dated 1918 and has a foot note explaining that it was quote:” sketched from my post one afternoon in August 1918″ A very pleasing and unique watercolour ideal four any true Great War enthusiast /collector. Condition is grubby but very good.
