The Duke of York’s Royal Canadian Hussars.Circa.1898
Two beautiful Canadian cap and collar enamelled badges, both heavy gilt with two lugs to the reverse of each. The cap badge has no enamel loss and is nicely toned gilt to the front, but on the reverse the two lugs have been repaired and glued, it is very interesting in that it has two name plates to the reverse, one ‘Made in England’ at the top of the badge and the other ‘J.R.Gaunt.Montreal’ at the base of the badge.(See photos). I have priced these two badges in accordance with the repaired cap badge otherwise I would be offering for sale at considerably more. The collar badge is in excellent condition, no enamel loss and with the makers name of “R.Hemsley,Montreal” stamped into the reverse. Both apart from the repair to the cap badge in excellent condition.
