German SA dagger by Aug.Merten Ww. Solingen. District Saxony.Circa.1933/39
A good SA dagger manufactured by the lesser known manufacturer Aug.Merten Ww. of Solingen. District stamped on cross guard with a letter”S” for Saxony. The dagger has the brown wood handle with inset eagle and swastika motif and enamel SA emblem, the fittings are all nickel plate and the dagger blade bearing the manufacturers name and the standard “Alles Fur Deutschland” motto upon it. The scabbard is of the later painted brown type with nickel fittings and single ring belt fattening loop. Paintwork on scabbard is 100% original and retina 80-85% of its finish . Overall, a good tight fitting dagger to scabbard and in very good condition.
