FRENCH LIGNE MAGINOT OFFICERS’s 39th RAMF.Tunic. Circa.1939/40

A superb Officer in the 39th RAMF. four pocket tunic Modele 1939  in very good condition, all buttons present and the collar badges of Artillery in red. Above the right hand breast pocket is the badge of the Ligne Maginot ,”On Ne passé pas” in white metal, above the left hand pocket are the owners medal bar with a variety of medals from the Great War period and around the arm and over the shoulder is a lanyard of the Medaille Militaire and upon it is  regulation pinned, the 39th Artillery enamel badge. Rank stripes appear on the cuffs in gold braid. Brown leather waist belt with cross strap complete this very nice tunic. Very good Condition.

Fortified Sector of Faulquemont (Secteur Fortifiée de Faulquemont) was the French military organization that in 1940 controlled the section of the Maginot Line in the area of Faulquemont to the east of Metz. In 1940 this sector mounted strong resistance to the German attack even though in poor supply of Fortress Artillery.
